Having recently crowned it’s third winner, Miss Universe GB has now become Miss Universe UK, as to avoid any confusion with Miss UK, which is owned by Julia Morley. 2010's new winner Tara Hoyos - Martinez was crowned at the ICC in Birmingham in a fantastic show, with great judges, stunning contestants and great event organisation. The contest also raised over £34,000 for charity, the highest of any UK pageant this year so far! The winner’s package, aside from the fact you go to Miss Universe, is appealing: A wardrobe of evening gowns for Miss Universe from sponsors Dress.Stop.com; shoes from Alla Moda; a luxury holiday for two; a contract with Front, and a series of ambassadorial overseas visits with The Joshua Foundation including a month in Australia, a trip to Lapland, and a fact-finding mission to Mongolia; along with meeting Mr Donald Trump himself, at Miss Universe 2010. This contest has now opened it's doors to allow contestants who have won and placed in other UK contests to enter. The directors are absolutely lovely, and the sponsorship fee has also been dropped to approximately £500.00, which is a bargain considering the goody bags and hotel the contestants are placed in. Another UK Beauties favourite!!!
