According to the website, Miss Earth UK winners are “informed, goal-oriented and committed to playing a part in preserving and protecting the environment for future generations.”  2005 was the first time the UK had held an official contest for Miss Earth UK.  Prior to that, winners were chosen through a photo contest and attended as, and when available.  The new organisers, who have held the franchise since 2006, have a new website and seem to be attracting lots of new entrants.  Age range is 17–26.  Well worth entering because if you win you get to go to Miss Earth, one of the big five, which is the experience of a lifetime!
